Bikeriders, la ley del asfalto retrata una época de rebelión y de cambio en la cultura y en la gente de Estados Unidos. Tras un encuentro casual en un bar, Kathy (Jodie Comer), una mujer con carácter, se siente profundamente atraída por Benny (Austin Butler), el miembro más reciente de “The Vandals” (Los vándalos), un club de moteros del Medio Oeste liderado por el enigmático Johnny (Tom Hardy). Al igual que el país, el club empieza a cambiar, y pasa de ser un lugar de reunión para los forasteros locales a convertirse en un punto de encuentro para un violento submundo, obligando a Benny a escoger entre Kathy y la lealtad que siente por sus compañeros. Logro admirable que resucita el antiguo y bueno ambiente motociclista y se divierte construyendo una historia y personajes. Con actores magníficamente seleccionados y talentosos. La frágil Jodie Comer entre personajes rudos que no encajan en ningún lugar, y por lo tanto están destinados a estar juntos. Los gruñidos y las miradas de Tom Hardy nunca han sido más elocuentes y el rebelde guapo de Austin Butler le da ese espíritu a la América cinematográfica más icónica (James Dean). The Bikeriders es una agradable joya old school para los fans del elenco actoral, que no necesita una trama sofisticada para entretener con cada escena y mantiene un desenlace impredecible hasta el final. Probablemente la escena más genial y original de la película, romántica y a la vez machista, es cuando Butler conquista a Jodie Comer frente a su casa.

Jeff Nichols sabe evocar un agradable toque retro, pero solo rasca la superficie con los personajes. Aunque el guion intentaba decirme algo sobre el pasado y el futuro de cada uno de los numerosos personajes, ninguno de ellos me importaba realmente. Estos personajes unidimensionales no soportan el peso de la historia, en mi opinión. Además, en una película sobre motociclistas, esperaría un poco más de momentos visualmente atractivos, algunas locaciones impresionantes, tomas de cámara creativas. Una película retro impresionante y atmosférica, que tiene su origen en una publicación literario-fotográfica que documenta el estilo de vida de los miembros de una pandilla de motociclistas que existía a finales de los años 60 y principios de los años 70. En la historia, la publicación se tematiza a través del personaje de su autor (fotógrafo-reportero), cuya curiosa entrevista a la protagonista (esposa de uno de los motociclistas) crea el marco de la película y marca su ritmo. A través de estos dos observadores, nos vamos familiarizando gradualmente con los miembros y las reglas de la pandilla, con cuya concepción de la rebeldía y la libertad que van de la mano con la vagancia crónica, el vagabundeo y el vandalismo, sería difícil coincidir sin estos dos personajes. En la segunda mitad del relato sinuoso, cuya trama es escasa, salvo la línea romántica central y esbozos de relaciones entre los motociclistas, el número de personajes de la pandilla aumenta. Sin embargo, estos personajes no ven su propia exposición en la película, la historia los coloca intencionalmente en la posición de intrusos anónimos no deseados, que al final contribuyen al declive de la era dorada del motociclismo. Junto con eso, también cambia el tono de la película, con los episodios inicialmente divertidos y el disfrute hedonista reemplazados por giros trágicos y melancolía que reflejan los signos de la época, en particular los traumas y experiencias relacionados con la guerra en Vietnam. Al menos Tom Hardy, Jodie Comer, Austin Butler y Michael Shannon son simplemente irresistibles, no solo por sus actuaciones y personajes, sino también por su comportamiento despreocupado, el estilo de habla y, en algunos casos, su apariencia atípica.

A quality film, but not made for me, thematically and emotionally it missed me completely - and if I hadn't been at the cinema , I probably wouldn't have made it to the end. I can't tune in to see the characters as at least partially sympathetic libertarian rebels. To me, they all came off as irresponsible buffoons from the start.

Pretty weak. Ironically, it's where the film should have started. Because it's not until the last 10 minutes that we find out that the gang is in full swing (prostitutes, drugs, murders), so what we wanted to see will be in the sequel, which won't come. So if it wasn't for the guy gangster shit, I was hoping to at least enjoy the bikes, but NOPE, even those are scarce here. Mainly, it deals with relationships. Tom Hardy and Austin Butler were good, but apart from one burnt down pub and an “almost” rape, nothing interesting happened for two hours, and after the promising trailer, I see that as underwhelming. I didn't completely suffer, but then I'm not happy with the outcome either. At least the cameos of more familiar faces will be nice. 5/10.

The Bikeriders rides the wave of nostalgia. The cast is definitely trendy, but the story feels like filler between Danny Lyon's photos. It's not really important that the inspiration from The Wild One seemed somewhat archaic even in the sixties. What matters is that the tradition of Easy Rider continues.

An average retro-style film with excellent actors, amazing production design and a few interesting moments. The biggest emphasis is on the characters, the story doesn't rush anywhere and the finale is barely a few minutes long. Austin Butler is a modern-day James Dean. It will never become a cult-classic or an audience favourite, but The Bikeriders will definitely find its place and its target audience, even if it's not a big one.

The Bikeriders is captivating in the way it's told, with a story about a bunch of guys with a thing for motor oil, a fist to the face and danger, set in a kind of newsreel framework. The leading trio of actors was chosen with the character in mind: from the charismatic leader Tom Hardy, to the troubled rebel Austin Butler, to the fragile yet tough Jodie Comer. It was interesting to see the evolution of the band of "vandals" - from the buddies who liked to ride and party here and there, to the twisted brainwashed fanatics. P.S. This is exactly the kind of movie I would never go to see on my own, but I attended the FilmBooster screening out of curiosity and it turned out exactly as I expected. I have to single out the absolutely excellent Tom Hardy, I adore him in literally every film, and here he plays his character flawlessly as well, and likewise all the A-listers who second him are solidly memorable. The idea, however (although I was entertained at a couple of moments), went completely over my head and didn't say anything to me, so I had a bit of trouble getting more into the film. The whole thing is kind of a fast-paced story of one group of bikers, who are a joy to watch, but who on the other hand don't do anything memorable, making the movie a sort of a fly-by of bland scenes. Those who like this type of movies can add a star, but otherwise it's just a bland "meh" without much punch for me.

From the first trailer, I was quite excited. Everything looked perfect. And the casting! You couldn’t find better names in contemporary Hollywood. But in the end, I was slightly disappointed. Technically, the film is top-notch, capturing the period atmosphere of America during the Vietnam War incredibly authentically. But it drags. It’s crossed the threshold of what I consider bearable. Also, there aren’t many significant moments throughout the film that really shake up the viewer (maybe one sequence towards the end, which worked emotionally). At least the acting didn’t disappoint. Tom Hardy was unsurprisingly excellent (what else would you expect). Jodie Comer, in a supporting role, also shone again (this actress has been impressing with her performances since Scott’s The Last Duel). So... it’s a solid viewing experience. But I really don’t need to see it again. I give it a 6.5/10.
