A primera vista, Tim es un joven normal, con un trabajo aceptable y con una relación satisfactoria con su novia Jessica. Sin embargo, desde la niñez, vive atormentado por un miedo que lo domina por completo, y que cada día es más grande. Cuando tenía ocho años le ocurrió algo tremendo: todas las noches, después de acostarlo, su padre le contaba cuentos de terror, cosa que su madre desaprobaba; pero una fatídica noche, mientras Tim escuchaba, paralizado por el miedo, su padre fue violentamente absorbido por el armario y nunca más volvieron a verlo ni a saber de él. Oh, this hurt a lot. The dumbly staring main character spends most of the movie having a nightmare or a hallucination, and the main ghost, which looks like a mysterious shadow the entire time, gets its justification in a strange twist like one taken from the fairy tales by Božena Němcová in the style of "To defeat the ghost, you must survive a night with it in one room". This results in a struggle with digital darkness that is confusing to the eyes. A movie where everything is bad.
