La película se centra en una joven compositora (Charlotte Hope) que se encuentra frente a la oportunidad de su vida cuando recibe el encargo de componer el tercer movimiento de la partitura que su difunta mentora dejó incompleta al morir repentinamente. Sin embargo, pronto descubrirá que tocar esas notas conlleva repercusiones mortales, lo que la llevará a desenmascarar los orígenes perturbadores de la melodía y la malvada fuerza que ésta despierta. There will be a rat-catcher and his rats, and the music will be as good as it used to be. The concert features a fairly original theme (melodies that get stuck in your head) and clichéd genre conventions (like the ghoul from the dark returning the ball with a bat). One might even enjoy it, if Maestro Thoroddsen's amoroso finale hadn’t been more about desperation than virtue. Now one has to fear playing Eagles' "Hotel California" backwards, lest it summon Julian Sands.
