inglés Netflix pulled a rabbit out of the hat with this one, dropping it at the end of 2023, and it delivered in spades. 1670 is Poland's answer to What We Do in the Shadows, but set among 17th-century Polish nobility who seem stuck in the medieval era. It's both hilarious and brilliant, showcasing that the Poles can outdo themselves once again. I need more of this, and I really hope we get more in the coming years. These quirky, archaic characters are too fantastic to be confined to just one season. ()

inglés For fans of similar parodic mockumentary gems like Cunk on Earth or What We Do in the Shadows, this is another hilarious addition to this poor genre. A brisk and engaging miniseries about a Polish village circa 1670, each episode brings a different main theme or event to revolve around, and most of the time it's a very offbeat entertainment full of great Polish, dark humour, great characters and a very specific camera style. Add to that a great production design and fun visuals and we get original entertainment with an unconventional idea that surprised me very pleasantly! For enthusiasts of this subgenre, this is a must, as this kind of thing comes out once every few years... ()

Although two episodes in the middle of the series were noticeably weaker, the creators found their stride by the end and managed to make me laugh again. The finale, in particular, restored my full confidence in the show. I couldn't help but compare it to the first season of Blackadder, but the truth is, the Poles took a different approach. While this was occasionally a drawback, it ultimately worked in their favor. I’m already looking forward to a second season, which I hope will happen. / Lesson learned: If only Jan Pawel knew... ()
