The American horror noir Sudden Fear is a beautiful example of how to build up a film. How a subtle spectacle - at the beginning, it may almost seem to be a film about a romance between a couple in their 40s - becomes a film where you will be tense at the end, wondering how it will turn out. Even the seemingly banal scene with the tin toy and the dog looks absolutely great and takes your breath away. ()
