When Trish decides to invite her high school girl's basketball teammates over for a slumber party, she makes three big mistakes: she snubs the pretty new girl next door, she forgets about teenage pranksters Jeff and Neil, she doesn't know about an escaped mental patient who will soon be dropping in on the party with his portable drill! ()
The American-produced The Slumber Party Massacre is a pure slasher movie, so the killer’s identity is not so important because he is just another nutcase. What is important is how the girls manage to stand up to this killer. They tend to handle it pretty well, so it is never boring. It is pretty hardcore and badass at times, plus watching all the female protagonists is pretty entertaining. I would say the ladies in this movie are worth your time. ()
This is what happens, dear voluptuous students, when you let yourselves get dragged into a pajama party. The silent killer with the look of a train inspector tries his hand at the youngsters with a really long drill, and as we see in one shot (slightly different from the poster), it serves as a stand-in for his penis. Once it’s broken, he doesn’t head to the store for a new one; he’s simply impotent from that point on. The whole thing is like one of the opening scenes where the girls play basketball in gym class. You might appreciate the female curves, but in terms of technical skills and execution (like dribbling with gore, positioning for jump-scares, or finishing), it’s unbearable to watch. ()
