Aelita, Reina de Marte, es una monarca sometida por su dictatorial padre que lanza una llamada de socorro a la Tierra. Los, el ingeniero a cargo de la estación de radio de Moscú descifra el mensaje y junto con el revolucionario Gusev, emprende un viaje a Marte con la nave que ha construido. It's quite political at times, but considering it was created at a time when the revolution was still quite lively and all those ideas hadn't been degenerated by Stalin, it holds weight. And I must say, some scenes really gave me chills, not because I was scared of their ideological message, but because they resonated quite powerfully. What's undoubtedly the best aspect of the film is its visuals, especially the costumes; they're beautiful and could actually work in modern sci-fi.
