Very, very dark and chilling. It’s as if the Coens hadn’t lighten up Fargo with dark humour. ()
The darkest and most vicious episode of the fourth season. It’s dark, maybe unnecessarily so, and the last shocking twist is already downright superficial. It gets an extra point for the excellently chosen snowy setting, which strongly enhances the atmosphere, but it looses a point because of the slow start and the ten-minute long repetitive part around the middle. ()
“No more half measures”. A much more chillingly bleak atmospheric Nordic noir à la Trapped than an episode of Black Mirror, but bloody good Nordic noir. ()
Hillcoat’s feeling for image and the naturalistic murders lift Crocodile above mediocre. The confused, rushed decisions and mistakes are excellently acted. While the overall ambiguity is interesting, it does much to wipe out the catharsis needed at the end. ()
