Joe January, un guía bebedor y vividor es contratado por Paul Bonnard para encontrar a su padre y un legendario tesoro perdido. Ambos se adentran en las regiones más estériles e inaccesibles del desierto norteafricano acompañados por Dita, una prostituta ansiosa por emprender una nueva vida que desempeñará un papel crucial en la lucha de ambos hombres por la supervivencia. John Wayne and Sophia Loren are a great combination, and it's beautifully evident in their characters how they seek each other out until they finally find each other. At times playful, then strongly, perhaps even overly, theatrically emotional towards the end. But I didn't mind. John Wayne once again displays his classic character, and I'm eating it up once again.
