Sinopsis(1)

Martin Friedmann, a Jewish boy, was born in 1926 in Bánovce nad Bebravou (western Slovakia). His story would hardly be extraordinary, had he not succeeded in escaping deportation to a concentration camp thanks to his exceptional football talent and a few lucky coincidences. Today he lives in L.A. under the name Martin Petrášek and is proud of his Slovak roots.
Why and how did he arrive at this name, and why does he use it today? That and much more in Broken Promise, a story based on true events. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)

inglés It's not a bad view of Slovakia during and after World War II, and there are definitely strong emotional scenes in it. However, as the film progressed, I found myself caring less about what happened to the main characters. The first and middle parts are clearly better than the last part. ()

inglés Towards the end it gets a little long (the partisan part is extremely drawn out) with a poorly acting lead actor, but also containing a number of impressive scenes (a rabbi who doesn't want to be a rabbi) and features great sets. Three and a bit. ()
