I hadn’t seen a true story in a while, so I was really looking forward to Soul Surfer—and it didn’t disappoint, especially by the end. It’s the inspiring story of a girl who overcame the odds and showed she had the will to keep living, and that felt incredibly uplifting. Throughout the whole movie, I was rooting for her to find happiness, and the solid cast made it even better, with great performances from Helen Hunt, Kevin Sorbo, Dennis Quaid, and AnnaSophia Robb in the lead role. Even though you kind of know what to expect with this type of film, you still feel every moment with the characters, especially if you have a heart. If you're not completely cold and indifferent, there's something here that will resonate with you.

I don't know if I was moved because it's based on a true story or because of the way it's presented. Either way, I have no doubt that AnnaSophia Robb is a great actress. I'm pleased beyond measure with the cinematography and the choice of supporting characters. It is supercharged by the surfing feats and the fantastic music that adds the perfect tone to every situation. Fortunately, the film does not succumb to melancholy. It oozes energy, competitiveness, and determination. In a way, it is also a great motivation. My compliments.
