Sinopsis(1)
After a long time, a somewhat bearable parody, whose creators took aim at the teen phenomenon Twilight and had a good time. Some ideas were not bad at all, like Jacob the Chihuahua. I'm pretty neutral on the subject, so I wasn't offended by this parody. I even have to praise that they emphasized and mocked things I didn't like about the source material, like Belle’s all sorts of sighs and her horrible looks. In short, there are much better parodies, but there are also much worse, and this one sticks in the middle of the parody rating scales. ()
There were a few laughs, but otherwise it's rather poor. Too awkward in places and literally tedious in the second half, which is a bad sign for a parody of Twilight. Fifty Shades of Black is a level above maybe even two above. 4/10. ()
I'm not a fan of parody, but my curiosity got the better of me... I adore Twilight and know it perfectly, so some scenes entertained me quite a bit. I have to admit that the leads were good, some of the supporting characters quite good as well. Still, I would have cut a lot of the awkward scenes. ()
Werewolf humor, The Black Eyed Peas, and ordering Chinese food is fine, but unfortunately that's where it ends. Surprisingly, the problem with the vampire parody is not that it is so disgusting or terrible, but rather that it's just boring. Fortunately, the running time barely sticks it out long enough to be suitable for a feature film, and all bathroom humor has been practically eradicated. The second star landed only for its relative harmlessness, because the feeling that this script was written in the afternoon and that it is much easier to take shots at Twilight remains too prominent.
