"Kids... always a disappointment." Freddy cleverly chose a new platform right next to the placenta, but by now we sort of know that something other than an abortion will temporarily stop him at the end. All those gothic, comic, or dungeon undertones try to come across as dark, and there are a few interesting moments (a feast splashed with the legendary scene from The Meaning of Life and Švankmajer or the graphics resembling the Take On Me music video by A-ha), but the rushed filming, inadequate budget, and final editing into a less violent version significantly undermined the director's vision. Perhaps it was some consolation for Stephen Hopkins that this earned him the sequel to Predator. ()
This episode was not fun. There are some good scenes, but The Dream Child is very inconsistent overall and already half an hour after watching it, I’m mixing it with previous episodes. ()
Freddy Krueger comes to life again, but this time (perhaps for the first time since the first episode) there is horror that is truly horror. Stephen Hopkins came up with a lot of ideas and many times it's a pleasure to watch this filth. ()
