El detective Shigeta (Takayuki Yamada) investiga las misteriosas desapariciones de personas que están teniendo lugar, además de perseguir a una extraña secta que busca el "pequeño orbe negro". Mientras tanto, Kei Kurono (Kazunari Ninomiya) continúa su aventura matando aliens para lograr alcanzar la puntuación máxima, mientras se dedica a cuidar del hermano de Kato (Kenichi Matsuyama). The established trend continues, and the story becomes even more convoluted, which wasn't exactly clear before due to the large number of unknowns. Honestly, I hope the result of the manga will be a bit better than the outcome of this live-action version. There's not much to look forward to, even though the action scenes are good. It tries to strike a more emotional chord, but for some reason, I can't quite connect with this film. Yes, the ending is literally epic, but I can't help feeling like the potential of the manga was squandered incredibly quickly. Still, it's a tad better than the first film.
