inglés García isn’t very good at building an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty and, therefore, the first half is the very derivative, sterile and ineffective cliché of how a group of characters gets stuck in a forest cabin or a Columbian haunted house. But the moment the cards are put on the table and something starts to happen, the film becomes quite fun. What holds its head above water are the technical aspect, the quality gore and, in particular, the fun idea that a body possessed by a demon can’t be killed because the demon would possess you. ()

inglés A dilapidated house, a curse, a demon... Does that remind you of anything? At first it looks like a little sibling of Case 39 or Orphan, but the observant viewer will eventually realize that The Damned is much closer to Evil Dead in look and concept. So, for me, a decently atmospheric demonic ride backed by a decent 5 million budget, with some decent gore. I was almost out of breath by the end, so I'll gladly throw in 4 stars, considering how miserable this year has been. 70% ()

inglés Based on what the film is about, I would have expected an atmospheric spectacle, but unfortunately, that was missing. At times, the atmosphere is indeed influenced by how the actors are directed and how the camera is handled. It's as if there was a lack of desire to film something truly terrifying, something in the horror genre, so the creators simply settled for capturing scenes in a way that is somewhat typical for horror films. It's a shame because this film, with its premise and storyline, deserved much better. ()
