Jimmy (Kevin Hart) se dedica a proporcionar sus servicios como padrino de bodas para tipos con dificultades para relacionarse, quienes - por cualquier motivo - no tienen a ninguna persona lo suficientemente cercana como para asistir a su boda. Doug (Josh Gad), el novio, se ha visto de repente en una situación como esta, pero, para empeorar las cosas, se inventa los nombres no sólo del padrino sino de nueve personas más. Cuando todo lo demás fracasa, Doug buscará la ayuda de Jimmy y sus servicios para llevar a cabo una farsa perfectamente diseñada para hacer parecer a Doug mejor de lo que es, pero que amenazará con destruirlo todo si se descubre la verdad. The best comedy of the year if not the last decade. This one absolutely flew under my radar because of the not-so-familiar cast. Kevin Hart is a great entertainer on the level of the Wayans brothers. The film has all the elements I love in comedies (dancing and partying, smart women, quirky individuals, perverted humor, queer and apt jokes). As a plus, an excellent idea and lots of deep thoughts regarding women, marriage, friendship and all the stuff around it. I’ve seen it three times now and each time I've ended up under the table with an uncomfortable seizure, I haven't laughed so heartily and honestly in a long time. Perfect stuff whose wisdom I will definitely use in the future.

Right from the start, I had a feeling it was going to be complete nonsense, and I wasn't far off. It was the kind of simple, mindless fun that's perfect for giving your brain a break. You can't expect a plot that demands much from the viewer. Now, don't get me wrong — I don't reject these types of movies. They're great for passing the time while doing those mundane household chores. From that perspective, I could easily give the film three stars. However, the creators should stick to what works for them — humor. While it succeeded in some places, it often got cringey when they tried to get all moral or emotional with the story. / Lesson learned: If you're in the United States, it pays to be sociable. It might come in handy when you want to get married.
