This is exactly the kind of film that some actors can make a name for themselves on. Choosing an interesting personality and showing that I have the talent for acting - and possibly singing - within me. Queen Latifah proved this, it's just that the film overall is so predictable and sentimental where you'd expect it to be. It’s only a little gritty. ()
