Sinopsis(1)
Julia, su madre, y sus hermanos gemelos, Sindre e Ida, acaban de mudarse a una pequeña ciudad. Pero su padre está lejos, trabajando en el sur de Noruega. Los niños le echan tanto de menos que deciden esconderse en un helicóptero que viaja hacía dónde está él. Pero de repente hay un cambio de ruta y se encuentran perdidos y solos en una isla desierta. Operation Arctic is a perfect example of a Norwegian attempt at a blockbuster that ends up feeling like a poor imitation of Hollywood. Sure, the snowy landscapes are stunning—as they always are in Norway. Honestly, you could hand a camera to anyone in the middle of the Norwegian wilderness, and they'd capture breathtaking shots that leave you wanting more. But the Norwegians push it to the limit here because, story-wise, this kids' adventure is so naive and poorly written that it’s frustrating from the start, and not even the ending can save it.

This film was made with the ambition consisting in “let’s shoot a bunch of captivating shots of the Arctic and throw them into a children’s movie because those sell well”. The faulty logic and causality trip up every scene. I like children’s movies, but this one doesn’t deserve attention despite its spectacular concept and the money spent on it.
