Kai San is a sleazy and despicable bastard of the most epic proportions! After being caught screwing the wife of his boss, he goes on a killing spree and flees Hong Kong. 10 years later, Kai finds himself working as a restaurant chef in South Africa. Overworked, underpaid, berated, and extorted by the restaurant owners who know of his fugitive status, Kai is a ticking timebomb... While visiting an ebola infected tribe to purchase some discount meat for the restaurant, Kai takes time out of his busy schedule to rape a sick native woman on his way back to work. Fortunately for our anti-hero, he's a one in a million kind of guy - the kind that recovers from Ebola, yet continues to carry and spread the disease. Una película que rezuma toneladas de ira, odio, depravación, violencia extrema y perversión sexual. Una película que desgraciadamente no puede ser condenada como basura provocativa barata, porque está sofisticadamente escrita, artísticamente dirigida, dinámicamente montada, brillantemente interpretada, imprevisible y ni por un segundo aburrida. En la actualidad, el aclamado actor Anthony Wong interpreta con credibilidad al bestial asesino y desviado sexual. No tendría ningún problema en echar gasolina y prender fuego a una niña a cuyos padres acababa de matar delante de ella (la escena inicial, que establece el clímax de lo que sigue). La película lo acompaña como un «asesino nato»" y sus acciones rebasan los límites de la fantasía más depravada. Lo peor de todo es que no lo glorifica ni lo juzga especialmente. Esta imparcialidad de la película, que a veces se desliza hacia el humor negro para un público muy reducido, es el semillero de una intensa sensación de morbo de la que pocas películas pueden presumir. Yo evitaría al guionista a kilómetros... El motivo del virus del Ébola, del que nuestro «héroe» se convierte en portador, sólo entra en escena en la segunda mitad, y no hace sino intensificar y profundizar la atmósfera agobiante y repugnante. No la recomiendo en absoluto a los espectadores más sensibles e inexpertos.

Together with Red to Kill, for me the best Hong Kong Cat 3 shocker with an unforgettable Anthony Wong, who once again gives an incredibly crazy, sick performance!! The film is decently gory, uncomfortable to watch, disturbing and has a great idea, this is what HK CAT 3 should look like! I recommend it. 75%.

With what the film Ebola Syndrome had, the creators did a great job with it. There is humor that lightens things up a bit, but there are also appropriately grim and gritty scenes that balance it out. When it comes to gore, the autopsy scene in this regard is beautifully executed, showing that when handled by a capable artist, gore can indeed look disgustingly real. Here, you can point out a certain waxiness of the body, but that can also be excused by the character's illness. This film surprised me a lot, in a positive sense.
