Sinopsis(1)

In this psychological thriller from Blumhouse Productions and legendary screenwriter David Koepp, Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried star as a couple seeking a restful vacation in a remote home in the Welsh countryside. What at first seems like a perfect retreat distorts into a terrifying nightmare when Theo’s (Bacon) grasp on reality begins to unravel, and he suspects that a sinister force within the house demands a reckoning for secrets of the past. español David Koepp y Kevin Bacon se reunieron tras El último escalón en el campo del terror, pero esta vez se trata de una colaboración menos glamurosa. ()

inglés A decent psychological thriller with the traditionally good Kevin Bacon and the beautiful Amanda Seyfried. The film moves at a very slow pace and nothing much interesting happens apart from the final act, something I don't like. It should and could have been scarier and more atmospheric, the film rather just leans on horror. At least the craftsmanship is good, the dream sequences are decent and the denouement is quite interesting. An easily forgettable film that I probably won't remember in a week. inglés That was a significant fail. I wouldn't have expected such a dull final product from Blumhouse Productions and with such a star-studded cast. It has absolutely nothing to offer. And it was directed by David Koepp, who has definitely made better films in his career. The entire movie feels cheap and superficial, trying to appeal to the audience only through various screeching sounds and cheap scares. Sorry, but that doesn’t impress me. As I mentioned, the names look impressive on paper, but in the end, the actors have almost nothing to do. The most pleasantly surprising performance was by the little girl; she played her role brilliantly for her age. Otherwise, it’s weak. There was more potential in the story; I saw huge possibilities, but the final plot twist, which was supposed to blow you away and make you say "wow," was more laughable (or perhaps made you want to cry). An hour and a half of lost time. I give it 31%. ()
