Tehran on Apple TV was a pleasant surprise. I never thought Israel would have the guts to pull off a spy thriller centered around the tension between Israel and Iran. Right from the start, things go sideways for the spies, and I found myself glued to each episode, waiting for the situation to spiral completely out of control. While the finale felt a bit anticlimactic, I think it was intentional given the overall theme. Huge respect to the creators for their bold approach and for somehow making Athens look like Tehran—it blew my mind. Shaun Toub and Niv Sultan were standouts, especially. This series definitely deserves more attention and easily ranks among the best spy dramas I’ve seen lately.
