Una trama infantilmente simple, diálogos tontos y un ritmo más o menos aceptable. Bastante sólido, por encima de la media de la producción de Charles Band. Por suerte, la cabeza de familia del título tiene bastante tiempo en pantalla, por lo que podemos disfrutar al máximo de sus monólogos de villano. No es nada de terror, y como comedia más o menos, pero se deja ver, si desde el principio no esperas nada más que una película de frikis. [Sitges 2019]

A harmless, slightly wacky horror-comedy. The adorably dumb plot doesn't focus much on the "head of the family" and his siblings in the first half. Instead, it deals with a love triangle among the local oddballs, which, thanks to the bizarre family, eventually resolves and gives rise to a new storyline. It's pretty dialogue-heavy, but thankfully, I found most of the conversations amusing rather than boring. In the end, it's not the hardcore trash it might initially seem, but rather a fairly tame flick. The biggest shock factor is the perpetually naked Jacqueline Lovell — if she were clothed, this could easily air in the afternoon on TV.

Head of the Family has several positive aspects, with the first being the special effects, which are good. I find this is something that is traditionally good in Band's films. The second aspect is that the film is quite daring and sexy in places. Then, it's just a pretty normal B-movie that can entertain you with its absurdity. I quite enjoyed it, even though the ending didn't really impress me.
