La visita (2015)

inglés M. Night Shyamalan proved it and made a film that is evidence that he has it in him and that he has ideas worth filming and that you want to see. Or maybe you don't want to, because the sight of them is quite distressing in places. This is a film that gives you exactly the horror atmosphere you crave in a horror film. Ultimately, the story is also truly intriguing, and you want to know how it all ends.

Atmósfera cero (1981)

inglés A quite successful sci-fi, demonstrating that in the 70s and 80s, closed spaces of spaceships and planetary stations were effectively used to instill fear not only in the characters but also in the audience. Everything is beautifully bleak, yet it's possible to manage an action film here that can really captivate at times. Sean Connery rules once again.

Kozure Ôkami: Meifumando (1973)

inglés It seemed just slightly weaker to me than the previous installments, mainly because I really enjoyed the first half, but the second half didn't entertain me as much. The scene with the "cub" getting beaten up is really very powerful and intense. It has exactly the right impact on the viewer that it should have. You simply won’t forget it.

Kozure Ôkami: Oya no kokoro ko no kokoro (1972)

inglés In this episode, there are some absolutely incredible scenes, I mean fight scenes, which are beautifully brought to a brutal end. This is truly a feast for the eyes of an action movie fan. The Japanese show that they were not afraid and were able to shoot bloody movies already at that time, which also have a good story.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

inglés I didn't expect to enjoy the film very much. It's talked about too much as a cult classic, but in its case, it's absolutely deserved. Great performances in a brilliantly twisted script, dominated by Tim Curry, and of course, the songs that easily get under the viewer's skin. This is alternative beauty.

Ciudades de papel (2015)

inglés A nice film about all that can happen when you fall in love. These coming-of-age films, especially those about leaving high school, are quite rewarding, partly because they are usually very good. This one's definitely good. It's funny, it's nostalgic and it's really beautifully absurd in places, which I enjoyed. A slight nostalgic mood came over me.

De ilusión también se vive (1947)

inglés It's one of those beautiful stories you like to revisit, especially a film with such a lovely concept, like a courtroom trial about whether a person is truly Santa Claus or not. This is just such a beautiful idea that you have to love it. I was content with how things unfolded, and I don't feel much inclined to watch the 1994 remake.

Cuando los dinosaurios dominaban la Tierra (1970)

inglés Of course, the film is relatively weak in terms of plot, and you can't rely too much on the characters, but I watched it because I wanted to see more of the visual spectacle, which I got. It's not always seamless, but still, it shows that stop motion is simply a path I'd like to see even today. There's just not enough of it, unfortunately.

Jennifer's Body (2009)

inglés Jennifer's Body is actually a classic tale about coping with the end of high school. It's just conceived as a horror, a very bloody horror, but one that works and has its strengths precisely because it goes beyond the boundaries of gore, although not too much, and also because it's entertaining. I had a good time with this film, although a little editing would definitely have done it some good.

The Sci-fi Boys (2006)

inglés I see this film as beneficial mainly because it highlights personalities in the film industry that aren't as visible. It's not just Ray Harryhausen, but also Rick Baker and other masters, both older and unfortunately deceased, who meant so much for the craft of special effects in film. Some things simply must not be forgotten, and the enchantment with sci-fi films is palpable from every minute.
