Kent, un padre de familia de lo más normal, decide enfundarse un viejo disfraz de payaso que encuentra por casualidad para amenizar la fiesta de cumpleaños de su hijo Jack. Al acabar la celebración, Kent descubre que es incapaz de quitarse el traje, a la par que comienza a sufrir una serie de terroríficos cambios en su físico y su personalidad. Presa de una diabólica maldición, la vida de Kent y su familia se convertirá en una cuenta atrás para detener su transformación antes de que sea demasiado tarde. (Vértigo Films Esp.)

Por fin, un payaso que trata a los niños insoportables como se merecen. Y que, al menos en la última etapa de transformación, tiene un aspecto feo y aterrador. Es una lástima el equilibrio completamente mal gestionado entre el drama de terror serio y la serie B involuntariamente cómica. No es tanto que no se gestione como que sea inconsciente. Lo que es peor.

A few tweaks in the script and it could be perfect. It needs to get rid of some of the filler, expand and develop more deeply the final moral dilemma and a more uniform atmosphere. What bothers me the most about Clown is how many times the mood changes from one scene to the other: from laughter to depression, from oppressive tension to horror fun. But even then it’s fine. There hasn’t been such an effective monster for quite some time and his final form is especially cool. I can’t remember a better horror film with a clown as a character. It had more potential, but I’m satisfied.

Awesome!! A pure horror experience like there hasn't been in years! Chewed nails, sweaty ass, pop corn scattered all over the room, brown shorts, chewed up laptop cable and nonstop biting into the bed rail, I haven't been raped like this in a long time. The film kicks off from the first minute and pedals at 120% until the breathtaking finale, where I experienced the most disgusting sense of unease at the atmosphere that successfully accompanies the film. Also to be commended are the very original and unorthodox idea and the solid gore and make-up effects (the final transformation of the clown, as well as his voice, is butt-clenching). Peter Stormare and the mythology revolving around the clown is just a great icing on the cake, which in itself is very tasty. The decapitation of the dog will blow you away. P.S. They could have gone a little harder on the gore, but overwhelmingly the atmosphere wins out here,but still Fuck you Wyrmwood!

Clown isn't groundbreaking, even though it tries to present a fairly interesting mythology, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great horror film. That's what I would see as the main aspect of this film. It's a horror that can touch on your hidden fears, and it's a dark horror, brilliantly escalating even in how the clown transforms. Yes, technically it's also very well done; you just won't get much of Eli Roth in it.
